National Stress Awareness Month 2022

In the spirit of National Stress Awareness Month, here are our top 4 tips for helping you manage stress.

Learn to breathe

It sounds silly but there are many great apps and videos out there that can teach you to control your breathing. Taking the time out of your day to sit comfortably and focus on nothing but your breathing is a great way to relieve stress and clear your mind.

Look after your Health

Eating regular and well-balanced meals is great for your health in general but if your body is not fuelled properly, you cannot expect it to work properly. As well as this when you are feeling overwhelmed take a walk outside. Just getting away from a situation for a couple of minutes can clear your mind and help you think more logically.

Disconnect from social Media

Spending to much time in front of screens can lead to addiction. Withdrawing from our devices can lead to increased levels of stress and mental health disorders. Try limiting your screen time with time management tools in your settings or better yet try changing your devices to greyscale. You will see a dramatic decrease in the amount of time spent on your device. We are a sociable species, reconnecting with friends in person.

Eliminate the triggers

You cannot avoid stress completely but taking note of what our stress triggers are can help you to understand why we get stressed and cutting these out completely is even better. Remember to start making time for the things you love the most.

Getting an accountant may seem daunting but at North Devon accounts we are here to take the stress away from your accounts so you can be free to do the things you love the most.
